Story Submission 9

This chapter fixing mainly dealt with spelling errors than anything else. I did make it longer and add more descriptive words to help the story flow better. I also added a few more scenes to tie it over to the previous chapters.

Alyanna pulls her makeshift shield closer to her body, ears ringing as bullets hit the shield. Grunting as the impact of the bullets made the shield shake her arm yet ignored it as she uses her other hand to reach for her belt. She fumbles around till she grabbed her last grenade and quickly pulls the clip before tossing it.

"Duck!" someone yelled as they saw the grenade fly towards them. Alyanna didn't stay behind to see who scream or survive and run off towards the forest. The ruins of her old home town made her heart drop as tears form. She quickly shakes her head to stop the tears. Forcing herself to ignore the dead bodies of familiar friends and families, she forced herself to run faster.

"Alyanna! Over here!" a familiar voice called over and looks towards the voice. She felt herself relax as she sees Charvi wave her over. The dark hair girl perks and makes her way over to her before they both took of the forest.

Once they made it to the forest, both girls soon slowed down as they made it to a clearing. Alya groans softly and leans against a tree, letting her shield arm drop. Charvi quickly moves to her side and looks at her girlfriend worriedly.

"What's wrong?" she asks as she grabs her arm to examine her for wounds, frowning as Alya pulls her arm back. "I'm fine! Just a bit sore is that all..."

"Then let me carry it-" "No. I can maneuver around with it easier than you and I rather I take the hits than you..."

Charvi pouts and pinches Alya's sore arm making her yelp. "Mean!" "Let me check your damn arm, you big baby!" The redhead glares at her as she waited for the older girl's decision. Alyanna sighs and begrudgingly holds her arm out to Charvi, who smiled widely and began working on her arm. Alyanna glances toward the direction they came from, glancing at the smoke from their home. Fear and worry started to build in her heart as she thought of her little brother before realizing Charvi was staring at her.

"I-I'm sorry?" Alya asks, tilting her head to the side. Her girlfriend sighs and shakes her head," I ask if your arm feels better. I tried to make it better support since you'll be carrying the shield." She flexes her arm before stretching around noticing the pain wasn't as strong as before. "Yeah, it's perfect. Thanks love," she hums, leaning against the tree.

Charvi smiles and nuzzles against her. "Think it'll be okay to rest here? What about the mercenaries?" she asks the taller girl. She shifts to rest her head on her shoulder as they both glance at the smoke rising over the treetops.

"Just a short rest, I'll take the first watch so you can rest a bit..." Alyanna said with a small smile before noticing Charvi's frown. "I promise I'll rest when it's my turn..."

The redhead sighs, nodding slowly before leaning to cuddle against her. Her hand moving on her belly, taking a deep breath to relax when a sudden thought came to her.

"Where would we go?" she asks, looking up at Alyanna. The older girl frowns and turns towards the opposite direction.

"I've heard of a village a bit south from here. They're completely against violence. "

"No violence?" Charvi repeats, smiling as she kisses her cheek. "Do you know what's its called?"

“I have no idea but hopefully we can find it soon," Alya rustles and stretches slightly. "Now rest so we can get moving soon." Charvi nodded and laid her head down again, closing her eyes as she takes a small nap.

It didn't take long before Charvi was completely asleep, letting Alya get a chance to look her over. The redhead was covered in scratches, scars, and blood from the little scats they were in. Her hair was pulled back in a loose ponytail, framing her heart-shaped face, making her look adorable. Alyanna runs her fingers through her hair and softly, wanting to keep her head clear from any dark thoughts.

The older teen has no urge to let her mind return to the guilt that stirred around making her stomach tighten, but she quickly pushes the sour taste back with a swing of her water. As she sets the water down, an explosion caught her attention. Alyanna quickly shot up making Charvi wake up as well from her sudden movement.

"W-what was that?" she asks with a yawn as she stands up, grabbing her bag, yelping as Alyanna starts pushing her along after grabbing her shield.

"Questions later! Let's go!" Alyanna hisses before hearing the baying of dogs. "GO!" she growls as they take off after another explosion sounded off.
